Golden State Warriors are 3-time NBA champions in the last 4 years. They play at Oracle Arena which is the oldest arena in the NBA. It can seat almost 20,000 fans. Oracle Arena and Golden State Warriors, with the new ownership, a few years ago wanted to be team of Silicon Valley – symbolizing winning and leader of use of technology.
Oracle Arena wanted an innovative digital experience at their arena with fan interaction and fan experience as the focal points. The underlying belief is that improved fan experience and increased fan engagement will eventually lead to higher revenue. Solution proposed and implemented consisted of two parts – have a consistent fan experience across various digital channels including mobile, jumbotron and digital signage across the arena and secondly, focus on real-time interactions that trigger fan engagement like scores and advanced stats combined with rich contextually relevant social experience spanning multiple social networks.
